Getting Specific – jellyfish walls and mutant octopus architecture

After a long night working, we had our first pin-up review for Studio. Everyone brought a series of drawings showing site analysis of Kabatas and study models of a secondary site. It was really great to see a variety of approaches to the site and the different ways people decided to graphically represent their findings and observations. Specifically, Sarah and Andrea (our two LA students) brought studies of water run off, soil quality – things that had not yet really occurred to the architecture students. As a result, we explored the possibility of expanding our site into the surrounding neighborhoods and subterranean space.  Other conversations ran with crazy ideas of jellyfish walls, a simit factory and a mutant octopus architecture. Overall we had some productive conversations in our 4hour review and all went out for some corba from Durumzade after. Can’t wait to see what people bring to the table next week!
